Williams' optical media sputtering targets are used to produce CD-R, DVD and DVD-R/+R discs. Internal manufacturing of Silicon and Ag Alloys allows Williams to support any semi-reflective layer preference. Continued development of Ag alloy products have generated many new optical storage products, including Sil-X™, Sil-R™ and Sil-XL™.

Williams provides a wide array of deposition materials for optical media targets. By developing unique manufacturing techniques we are able to offer product solutions (optical media targets) for DVD technology that improve sputtering characteristics and extend target lifetime. Specialty materials for reflective, semi-reflective, and active storage thin film layers are produced for all the major deposition equipment in the market today. Strategic deployment of manufacturing assets has allowed Williams to offer optical media customers backing plate recycling, shield cleaning, and target bonding at sites throughout the world.
